In Taoxichuan Art Center was an interesting exchange of  ideas and knowledge with other residents. We even collaborated with each other and made new work. Taoxichuan is a huge art center with a lot of facilities and nice exposition spaces.

After the lecture of an artist you started to understand more of his background and motivation.  It was a pity that these talks were often held at the end of the period. In my lecture ‘Female Touch’ I discussed my sculptures about the life of women in Jingdezhen  in several periods in history.

Building with porcelain and experimenting with slip-casting was a big joy. I tested and worked with 3 different types of porcelain and then I discovered Jade, a soft translucent type of porcelain clay. At the end of my stay other studio-mates also started enthusiastically playing with the slip-casting Jade. I miss everybody now already.

I hope to return to Jingdezhen in 2026 to continue experimenting  with the Jade.
